#RIPHef....Patty Brard: Playboy Playmate in January 1988

Hugh Hefner

Hugh Hefner, the legendary founder and editor-in-chief of Playboy magazine, passed away on September 27th at age 91. Hollywood stars and fans all over the world paid tribute to this iconic man.

Many female celebrities have posed for Playboy over the years. Among them are Pamela Anderson, LaToya Jackson, Kim Basinger, Anna Nicole Smith, Paris Hilton, Kim Kardashian...

Every Luv' admirer remembered when Patty Brard graced the cover of the Dutch edition of Playboy in January 1988. At the time, the enfant terrible of Dutch showbiz was a member of the jet set. She was married to Carlo Nasi (a record producer and music publisher as well as one of the heirs to the FIAT empire) and lived in Los Angeles, CA. She hit rock bottom in her career although the Dutch tabloid press often put her in the spotlight. Her solo records (except her debut single "Hold On To Love" in early 1981) flopped. After co-hosting the popular Candid Camera-like program "Bananasplit" with Ralf Inbar on TROS between 1983 and 1985, she tried her luck abroad. In Italy, she co-presented the highly successful Sanremo Festival on RAI Uno with Pippo Baudo in 1985 but was never big in Dante's country. In late 1986 and early 1987, she briefly hosted "Bingo", a music chart program on BRT in Belgium. The diva was rumoured to be involved in American projects that never saw the light of day (including a role in a sequel to "Charlie's Angels" and on "Falcon Crest"). Despite these bad career moves, Patty achieved a real tour de force when she appeared naked in Playboy Nederland. In the following years, the former Luv' singer bounced back.
